I have seen some OGRE Mesh exporters for Sketchup in the past, and in my experience they haven't worked as well as the Blender exporter for some reason. I have had some success with Blender using dotScene format importing the files into a game engine. Sketchup is much easier to use, and I would prefer to use it since you practically need a PhD to fully use Blender.

Has anyone developed (or plan to develop) a dotScene exporter for Sketchup?(<-- main question.)

dotScene format looks fairly simple to implement for someone who knows what they are doing: http://www.ogre3d.org/tikiwiki/DotScene It seems to me to just be an add on to normal OGRE mesh files that groups them.

On a side note, I've always had troubles with the current OGRE mesh export plugins and maybe someone could explain it to me.
Firstly, the meshes aren't named the same as what I name the groups or components within sketchup. Is there a way to get this working?
Secondly, the materials on OGRE mesh file exports in Sketchup are terrible. It seems to mangle them somehow. Any ideas?

I look forward to your replies.
