Free fall simulation with SketchyPhysics
-
Hello.
I want to simulate free fall in SketchyPhisics and obtain actual frame numbers to touch with ground plane (essentially, I want to know how many frames are consumed in "1 second" of Newton Game Dynamics). I made two objects and raise up them to (a) 4.9033m and (b) 19.6133m each (SketchUp might not be able to hold these precise values even I set). These values of height are matched to the time (a) 1 and (b) 2 second of this free fall (calculated from the equation gtt/2, g=9.80665m/s^2). I'm going to attach this .skp file.
In this situation, I obtained results of (a) 129frames and (b) 273frames to the ground with setting of 1 framerate ((a) 42frames and 90frames with 3 framerate, also). They might look too big and the relationship (a) and (b) are strange because it isn't doubled. If SketchyPhysics simulation run in 1/60 seconds, I should get (a) 60frames and (b) 120frames, I think. Furthermore, these aren't changed with any gravity or worldscale setting. Are these results acceptable?
What do mean these frame number results?
Thanks.

Hi Oshiro (and welcome).
I do not use SP so cannot help but we have a whole subforum dedicated to it under the "Special interests" forum,
I have moved your topic there for better attention by SP users.
