Just read some news about Apple's App Store reaching some records.

I'm amazed by the low prices of most of the apps, when compared to those in traditional platforms. For example, if you want to paint on your iPad, you can buy an app for that for under $10. On the desktop you would need to spend at least $40 for the latest version of ArtRage.

Similarly, you can get a nice looking, 1080p-output racing game for $10 on iOS, or spend $60 for one on a console.

Do you believe this trend of low-price software will come to the desktop, too?

I noticed that to and welcomed it. However I doubt the desktop versions will drop any time soon. Apple / vendors are fitting the prices to the customers I think.

When the large software developers get on board like UBi soft, Valve, EA games, Sierra and Capcom releasing new titles in tablet format, then I will be convinced. I do believe it will happen but not sure when.

The Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 can do it.

Will the tablet network with a desktop? If so, and if Apple supports it, you can hookup you desktop to the tablet, and use Apple's version of "remote control" to see and run the application from the desktop.

I do this on a pc all the time, especially when linking to virtual computers. I havn't looked at this subject for a year now, does Apple or PC have virtual tablets?

Addenda: I think PCs do. Don't know what the PC hardware requirements are. Do you need a touch screen? Or is there a mouse driver that will substitute for the touch screen?

After all that, would it be worth the effort to save a few bucks?

Neat, a desktop and tablet networked together with a virtual tablet on the desktop to access, and run the tablet application on the desktop. Wounder if there will be any license problems. Should not be if the "remote control" access (like in virtual PC) prevents use of the application (unless it is a multi-instance application like SU) when running on the desktop.
