Looks like an expensively machined nail with a turned tip or is it really a ball point pen?
Like the horizon shapes in the reflection on the ball, How was that achieved?

I have to agree with Eric. Not to mention the nail and the ball are not good, but hey at least you put some killer materials on it.

Come on guys, you shouldn't need to download anything.....there are very few things more simple to model than a nail or sphere. In fact, if you have the SP plugin or the add shape plugin, you don't even have to model the sphere.
