Does anyone know of any free or inexpensive software that allows one to put together project schedules including milestones and dates. We have used microsoft scheduler but that program is $500 bucks a pop! Whats the deal? That's as much as sketchup.

Depend of whether you are working on big, or small projects, with permanent internet connection or not ?
For all kind of project, with internet connection, you might take look at gantter.
For "small" project without to many predecessor relationship, you could take a look to taskcoach. Quit a good UI.
For bigger project, both offline and online mode, with server ability, you might take a look at ganttproject.See you.

Thanks! I look at them. At first glance gantter seems like it will do the job. The project schedule is 1 year for design and engineering and 1 year for construction for an 11 acre zoo.
