Baseball: Playoffs
-
Well as a Southern Yankees fan I am pulling for them but I have no problems pulling for Texas if they win. Honestly I am fine with anyone as long as it is not Boston nor Atlanta and since both are gone I will be fine with who ever wins as long as they are good games. Game 1 of San Fran and Philly will be sweet. Texas will be tough for sure if they bring their "A" game but I thought the Twins would be more of a challenge too. October baseball, nothing better

Great playoffs so far.
Last night we had a 5 run lead only to throw it away in the 8th, tonight we maintained the lead, so we are even at 1:1, Monday night we are at Yankee stadium, scary but we have Lee in rotation. Gonna be a doozy!
Go Rangers.

Yeah, we got no recognised rappers, unless vanilla Ice counts.
But we still will always be...

Rangers take game 4.
So Rangers are up 3 games to 1.
So far Rangers have scored 30 runs to Yankees 11.
Tomorrow could be all over...
Go Rangers!!

Am looking forward to Phillies vs. Rangers.
-
It's not looking like the Phillies will be there. I am not a fan but it will make the people around me happy to watch the Giants play in the Series (Now at last there's not a lot of controversy with the batters or their attitudes ). And they have the Freak-- makes it more interesting to non-fans.

Yankees, Rangers payroll disparity largest in playoff history...
http://gossipsports.com/?p=684
A couple fun tidbits from the article...
The difference between Alex Rodriguez (Yankees’ highest-paid player) and Michael Young (Rangers’ highest-paid) is Mark Teixeira.
Re: The Rangers’ five highest-paid players. Cliff Lee, Cristian Guzman and Jorge Cantu were just picked up this summer via trade. Rich Harden was released four days ago.
For the price of Alex Rodriguez, you could sign every Texas Ranger except the six highest paid.
The difference between the Yankees payroll and the Rangers payroll is the Cubs payroll. The Cubs have the third-highest payroll in baseball.

The Rangers this season is a great story in the making.
Firstly they were broke and faced bankruptcy, then there was a very ugly bidding war that included Mark Cuban (nobody wanted him to win as he is an asshole that would only destroy the Rangers), he did however have the money to push the selling price so many times higher than it should have been which really hurt everyone concerned.
Then the manager who is an ex Ranger player Nolan Ryan got some support and financial assistance and they were able to secure the funds to buy it, and we were all very happy.
So the Rangers do not have the money that the NY Yankees have to buy anything or anyone, A-Rod was a Rangers player originally until the Yankees waved the big $ sign in front of him and he jumped ship faster than you could say "please don't go".
Regis Philbin was just saying yesterday that the Yankees will probably be buying Cliff Lee and Hamilton, sad but probably true.Hopefully if things go well for us then this will be a David vs Goliath season.

Nope, too busy reading this forum.
I'm not a religious man but today I say a prayer....
Our Rangers, who art in Texas, Winners be thy name. The Yanks will come, they will be done, in New York as they were in Texas. Give us this day, a series win, and forgive us our losses by the bullpen and lead us not into the off season after this series, but deliver us a Championship to Texas. For the Rangers shall be the 2010 ALDS, ALCS, and World Series Champions forever and ever. Amen!!

3-1 pete.
Don't really think a prayer is necessary (unless you're a Yankees fan ) -
It's top of third, I'm at game. If my wife only knew what I spent on this ticket. My phone battery is dying. Hope we win
-
Have you bought tickets for the world series?

At $1600 for a bad seat I can never afford it.
I just paid $860.00 for two bad seats for my boy and I(well worth it 'cause we won) and I'm hurting.
Texas Rangers just kicked Yankee ass, and are now in the World series.
-
Wow!!!!!!!! I once paid $300.00 for a exhibition Sumo seat 5 feet up, about 80 feet from from the ring. but 4 figures, that could get me to Europe from the middle of the Pacific.
Shoot, guess I'll root for the Rangers.

World series starts today!
Rangers vs Giants.
We are just happy to be here, so at this point I can only dream of a win, but believe I'll be happy when the best team wins.

Solo, that's Barbara Bush and her husband in the first row behind the batter for the Series, first game in Texas.
Did you just see that double play?
