I have been a very busy SOB for the past month but I have managed to do some test renders with Thea. All with models I have tested or created for Twilight Render. Here are the renders and some notes on what settings I used.

Any insight to making them better is always appreciated.

The Lego Ciggy came from Cameronvan here at SCF. It was scaled 10x so that the faces would close in. I did not realize this until after I did the rendering and wondered why the DOF did not work. I am also working on that model making it show joints between the Lego pieces.

      Eric

I took notes on the settings and uploaded them with the images on the Thea forum if you want to see those.

        Hi Eric,

        Pretty nice renders.

I love the car one. Is the background a HDRI image?

        Thanks for sharing,

        -KN

          Thanks Ken.
Yes that is an HDR background. It is called Old Industrial Hall and I got it here:

            Hey Eric
Addictive little piece of software isn't it.
My only comment is the orange material on the pipeline display cases has something that looks odd. I notice the floor just to the left of the front display is odd, so maybe it just needed a little more time to cook. Is this unbiased?
            Otherwise keep em coming!

Thanks Dale. Yes it was an unbiased rendering. I used the denim texture and changed the color to orange. It did not turn out quite as nice as I had hoped. Still learning.

                  Right James.
You all know what they use to say about the artist and his tools. If you force him to work with one only brush, this most probably will help him to develop his skills. But what about the brush maker? πŸ˜„
