      Hello to everyone!

My name is Dirk and I'm new in this forum but not new to SketchUp and SketchyPhysics.

Recently I came across a very annoying behavior when using Sliders along long path.

I've created a box 100x100x6000mm and added on the long side a small box 100x100x10 grouped it added the slider and connected the stuff.

It's work but when the small box is moved along the long box it starts to intersect until it's completely submerged.

I've googled like mad but could not find any answer and therefore I hope that someone on this forum might have an idea whats wrong.

      It happens SP2 and SP3

Many thanks in advance for your hints,
      πŸ˜„ Dirk

If the two boxes are connected together, you'll want to enable 'Connected collide' in the UI. Better yet, change the slider min/max so the box is prevented from moving that far in the first place πŸ˜‰

            Hi Jay,
            thanks for your reply!

Well I thought that my description of the problem would be hard to visualize...

I wanted to post a SKP file in my first post but I could not find how to accomplish this here in the forum.

So I'm working on it an will post an example

              Hey Wacov,
many thanks for the hint 'Connected collide', which solved my problem!

But here I've got another one:

I've just downloaded your "Hover Prototype" and tried to run it in the newest version of SketchyPhysics 3 RC1 as suggested by "jaysax" but when I press play physics simulation I get an empty blue control panel with a quote (") at the top left and no controls are shown at all.

I would be great if you had hint on this issue as well.

Many thanks on advance for your help.

              Regards from Switzerland,

              πŸ˜„ Dirk

Yeah, it's a combination of W/A/S/D and the left and right arrow keys to control it (needs more than just one set because it can strafe too). The keys control the hidden thruster objects on the underside of the craft, and the cube-shaped hidden boxes are what makes it hover. Try viewing hidden geometry when playing the sim to see how that works πŸ˜„
