No disrespect to the Aussies but the German team were very impressive tonight and the result wasn't that surprising..and yes those horns (Vuvuzela) are doing my head in too!
Chiming in a little late here I know but we didn't expect much either. The commentators here were trying to be as optimistic as possible.... and yes, the coach is in a bit of hot water over poor decisions!!!
Anyway, Germany were red hot.
Brazil were a little tender although that first goal was freakish!!!
Will be good to see Spain tonight. [games here in OZ start at 9.30am, then 12.00am then 4.30am so I feel like an owl right now......

WTF!!!
Here is the upset of the WC.
Who would ever have imagined this upset.
Switzerland 1: Spain 0.
All Spain, yet Switzerland held on well, fantastic defense.
-
Next game is South Africa vs Uruguay, my prediction Uruguay will win by 2, but hope for a South African win, regardless how unlikely it may be on paper.
-
Ah crap, what a disaster for RSA.
Looks like history is in the making, only host team not to progress to second round.
unless you believe in miracles...which I don't.
-
Switzerland doesn't suprise me, because the last tournament they leave without any goals against, also they didn't score. But now they have some good strikers like N'Kufo from the dutch champion Twente.
Otherside the Spain team is like the Netherlands, they have good players but it is not always a team who playes together. Yesterday they played like a dog without a tail.My predict is that when they not play in a 4-4-2 system they also loose from Chili and not going further in this tournament.

Solo
The whole of Ireland will be hoping that SA beat the French!!!
There is a TV show in the UK at the minute and they have a wall panel with actual people representing the participating teams sitting in it. On the first night they removed the French team and put Ireland in their place as they feel that the French cheated the Irish out of it with the Thierry Henri hand ball saga. It is very funny to see as it gets the biggest cheer of the show when they mention the Irish!
I hope you stay in as it is important to maintain local support at matches. Superbly organised competition so far. South Africans should be very proud as there were alot of doubts as to whether they could pull it off!

If you can't beat them, join them
-
France 0 - Mexico 2 It looks like the first scorer was off side possibly but good result and an entertaining match. It was nice the see the green shirts beating the French. It looks like France can start packing their bags. What goes around, comes around

Spain
my opinion
Our goalkeeper, CASILLAS, is not in good mood now. His girlfriend is working as a TV Sport journalist and each one of them are being seen at the same game. I am sure he does not feel confortable and Casilla´s concern affects all of us.
My care is whether our coach manager, Vicente del Bosque, will be brave enough to substitute him and make the enter of REINA, or VALDES, our second and third goalkeepers, which I truly believe, must be our new goalkeeper from now on, in this championship.get sure that if he does it, we will win the Cup
but if he does not, get sure enough, that we will pain desperately, I am afraid, without any reward.
no other way
now it is too late to take the girl out
I am glad The Times shares my view
we seem to have the best building but the players inside the building seem to look for the ball
El estudio barcelonés Carulla, Portella, Sala, Serrat, Camp Arquitectes ha ganado el concurso convocado por el Gobierno de Aragón

Well the WC is shaping into something now, a few upsets, goals galore, tears of joy from winning fans (the other tears to start next week)
Today is a day amongst days for the first round, Germany, USA and England will play, productivity on current project will be a little low today.
-
I will try a predict for today's matches
Germany-Servië 1-2
USA-Slovenië 2-1
England-Algerije 2-0With these scores Germany is back with the feet on the ground
Tomorrow
Netherlands - Japan 3-0
Off course i am a dutch guy -
WTF!!??
The ref is on the loose, he is f*cking crazy.
He looks to be going for the man of the match award.
-
second half coming ...
i think Germany will rise up -
The ref has ruined the flow of the game, the players are too scared to even get close to the other team, this is just ridiculous, the f#cking Spanish ref needs to get the hell out of this competition.
He has pretty much given every player a yellow card.
-
The Netherlands are very happy, because there neighbour Germany has lost. And with the upcoming game for Germany against Ghana, and Servie against Australia, there a out off the tournament.
-
Kinda sad when bad reffing makes y'all happy.
Hope the Netherlands gets the same ref soon.
-
The Ref follows the rules specially instruct for this championship. All the coaches know these rules. But it was not Servie who won this game, its Germany (klose) who make it possible that Servie get the 3 points.
Stick to the rules and play by it. Normally Germans are very fond off rules, and they know it when the opposite side is playing against the rules.
The Netherlands have lost 2 world championsships finals because off bad referees, so whe know it all.
-
Bad reffing continues, the USA were robbed by the ref in the dying minutes, it was a goal, clear as day, no infringement, no offside, yet no goal.
FIFA need to get their act together or else they will ruin these games.
-
I was cheering for England, was hoping for them to destroy Algeria, but IMO Algeria played with their heart, England were flat.
The result is correct and the ref was good (first good one today)0:0 draw
