Because A 3D computer image to be photorealistic, should look as much as it can like a photographic image as possible. And above all it should be a very good 'Photograph'
Those images are against a good "photographic" covention with distorted perspective and bad lighting making them less believable.
There yah go!

I'm not trying to do "photorealistic" pictures in that's projects.
It's a concept : half 3d & half sketch for a special aspect that does not resemble of the classical 3D.Thanks for your comment

Ok, pbacot i'm sorry.
I think NPR is a very good alternative of photorealistic rendering. For his sketch aspect, and his shadows.
