Is a group in the shadow of another object?

Is there a property that allows you to determine whether or not an object is in the shadow of another object?

Essentially, I want to know whether or not some or all of a particular group is shadowed.

There is nothing built in that specifically tests this. But you could make it using ray_test. I'm not sure how fast it is especially over larger models. But if you had to, you could.
