I don't know Vray but I see 2 main problems you can make better. 1) modeling: the more detail you add to the model the better it will look. Right now your first model looks very basic. 2) textures: you will need to spend more time on making your textures look more realistic. For example, your water should be more translucent (you should be able to see through it). Also I don't see any reflections in your materials either.

I have to agree with Brodie. There is no magic "render button" that you push to get stellar renders no matter what render engine you decide to use.

Taking time on textures and details will most certainly help but also time spent understanding cameras, environments, light theory, etc. will do wonders as well.

Have you read through the manual for Vray? There is a lot of good information there to get you started but as with any software it is time spent using the software and trial and error that will help you inprove. Study the masters, ask questions but also do your research as well. If you are going to do any renders with plants, flowers, trees, etc. it is best to spend the money on some good models. Using the same plant over and over is fine but not next to eachother in a row without attempts to make them unique. Things like this will not be corrected by using render software no matter what you choose to use. When asking for help with "options" try to be more specific. Many people have spent countless hours learning rendering and are more than willling to help but few will hold anyones hand without that person putting in the time themselves.
