Here is one more with V2

Beautiful colours here.
When you say V2 you mean the famous WW2 V2 weapon? -

Interesting thread Sepo and nice renders .
I particularly like the color bleeding on the Podium V2 versions.
Seems like the new render engine will be a very good one and I can't wait to see it in action more, both on interiors as exteriors.Good luck with development. A lot of people, including me, are looking forward to it.
-
Waiting waiting
-
Thanks Chris. I think we are nearly here.
-
Nice work on those first few Sid!
I wonder if V2 of Podium is using the new Sunflow open source engine?
In the second set of renders as Michalis points out some really weird refraction going on from the balcony glass and some very patchy GI in the underside shaded areas, almost as if a negative emitter is placed there or the glass in acting as a light sink! Strange!
Looking forward to seeing more mate!
-
Thanks Richard.
No Podium V2 is not using Sunflow. It is different render engine.
Yes there are some problems at moment with refraction. I decided to post it nvertheless as it is beta so nothing to hide. The patchy GI is me adding noise and pushing blues and whites in pp.
On the flipside I love the quality of light and colour bleeding. Also I do not see anymore problem with moire and texture AA. -
amazing results, sid. i have no doubts V2 will be well worth the wait.
-
i want this goddam V2!
-
lol. Me too. I am really curious about the UI/workflow.

Dacht eerst van New York i.v.m. al dat gallerij'en in NY gedoe@ michaliszissiou, Now that explains a lot! I've never had the idea it would be like that, thanks a lot for pointing that out!

Photomatix has a version for the Mac. There's two flavours, Pro and Light. Light is free. I am unsure what limitations it has, though.
I am 100% Belgian.

Point and shot with V2.... No other artificial light, only sun, in enclosed box. Rendered larger than this (see info in the left corner)on laptop with duo processor......pretty fast. Did 2 different pp just for kicks.
-
Sid, pretty damn fast.
Whats up with the floor shadows? the tables and chairs look like they are floating.
-
Yeah ...I was looking at it. I must tweak the preset. It is fast but I think I missed something there. Anyway that is something we can sort out. Otherwise not bad though.
-
so far so good.. except im mistified with the flooring on those last two renders. there seems some alteration of dark values...
-
Apart from the missing shadows, that looks rather impressive. Good quality/speed ratio, too.
-
This is where De Chirico used to live.
-
Discovered reason why there was problem with chairs looking like they were hovering. The reason was because they were hovering. They were not touching the ground. I should have checked the file prior rendering.
