Pretty much. Not a photo, though - pieces of an older render that didn't work. Mapped those to planes, messed with reflectivity/roughness, applied a bump map, set up a few emitters. Tweaked lighting a bit during rendering. Minimal PP (levels).

Touch it up with some rough sand paper.

Looks good ...almost like higly varnished oils.

Yeah ... Saw a photo of a badly lit heavily varnished painting recently. That gave me the idea.
