Who is it?
-
Brian May?
-
El Orens.
-
Pete, at first I thought "where the heck did he get that from?", but right enough, in that photo there is a incredible likeness to the permed camp-rock guitarist (and if it had been Brian May the hair would have been a giveaway haha).
Alan is correct again (and showing off- I had to Google "El Orens" to see if he was right. LOL) It is indeed T.E. Lawrence or "Lawrence of Arabia" as he's better known. The connection of course was that Omar Sharif played opposite Peter O'Toole in the famous film. Well done Alan.
-
Alan, we will have to figure out some way of handicapping you
-
No clue here and I will only accept proper full identity
-
Rin Tin Tin.
-
-
Alan Arkin (playing Yossarian in Catch 22)
-
-
Got to get all 3. Get one you get them all. You'll recognise the names when you get the identities.
-
Hmm ... looks like a bunch of Austrian archdukes. The left one, I think, is Otto Franz. The others ... other Franzes.
-
No. Nothing so grand. If you look carefully, they have one item in common.
-
theyve all got the same medal, no idea who they are though
-
The thing that's baffling me is that they appear to all be wearing the Victoria Cross meaning they're either a) distinguished British military men or b) are British royalty..... but c) those moustaches are so typically Germanic/Austro-Hungarian aristocracy that I'm guessing they're not "British".
-
Here's another one. But you don't need to get his name.
-
Need another clue- I'm about 90% certain that it's the Victoria Cross they're all wearing (am I at least right on that?), but nothing springs to mind to connect four of the 1,353 recipients and I'm not going to go through the whole list LOL. If it's not the VC then I'm completely stumped.
p.s. I think I'm going to have to ban myself from this thread- my productivity is down 100% and I think I broke Google. Just got to get this one and then I'm out!
-
Yes, it's the VC. But the 1353 recipients didn't all get them at the same time.
-
OK, after much head-scratching and even more Wikipedia-ing they are:
John Rouse Merriott Chard
Gonville Bromhead
Alfred Henry Hook
James Henry ReynoldsAll were awarded the VC for their actions in the Zulu War of 1879 and featured in the classic Michael Caine film "Zulu".
Although I'm aware of the film I've never actually seen it, so I must confess that the names meant absolutely nothing to me. Extra points please!
-
Well tracked down Jackson...now go and get some work done.
-
Here is an easy one, no clues.
