1st time i've posted anything here. so keen to hear what you think.

have become quite transfixed with lightup as my rendering option. Being able to get movies out of it and alot of high quality renders in one hit is the appeal. rendering for more than 10mins dosen't fit my workflow or my mentality.
I've posted these on the lightup site so apologies if your seeing them again.

so the render time on Tudor3 pics was a 5mins wait. on the tudor2 pics i had more time and i whacked up the resolution - that took 15mins. With the way Lightup works after the wait you can fly around and snap as my high quality pics as you like hence why theres quite a few.there are some draw backs to using it but they far out way the appeals for me

      what do you think?

Really cool project. Great first post. I think the first one is my favorite. Did you use and animated .gif for the fire texture?

cheers. it was animating very nicely in Lightup, the colour of the fire faded when i converted the tiff to a jpeg. not sure why though

Best LightUp images ever, very stylish. ๐Ÿ‘

BTW, so you're telling me I can use animated Tifs in LightUp? How do you convert a video to an animated Tif?

Ecuadorian - no, just the texture in Lightup animates (i think that that was a .png as it was fire). Lightup outputs still images in tiffs. So when i coverted the tiff image to a jpeg i seem to have lost a bit of colour. not sure why. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Is there any issue with huge polys models in lightup?

not as far as my models go. here the face count is 72,639. rendered in just over 5mins at x1 resolution. which is fine for something like this.
have you had a go on lightup before?

I just downloaded the demo, looks nice. It handled a huge model perfectly, interesting.

                            have fun
some basics: (because probably like me you wont read the instruction)

its a bit confusing at the start with direct sources (your lights you put in) and ambient occlusion (the background or the ground and sky colours you have checked in SU inflence this so play with them too) . you find your lights already waiting for you in your components window. theres an irrcache in there too which you place infront of a mirror, for example, if you want that face to reflect. when your touring around use the arrow keys to fly around. double click on a texture to alter it - animate it, change the colour, reflecttion, bump it. serch for HDRI's there fun......

cmeed - great stuff! It is the closest I've ever seen to Croatian Naive Painting in rendering...

                              http://fridaydiary.exteen.com/images/naive art.jpg

and have wanted to create some 3D Naive for a long time. ๐Ÿ˜„

Keep up the great work... the hand of an artist will create art.
