Any word from SU about toolbar issues?
-
The toolbar issue is really frustrating to me mostly because I've never seen such a basic issue left unresolved in a program for so long. Has SU/Google ever made any comment about the issue at all?

Are you new here?
Google has done practically nothing on the development end of sketchup since they purchased it. They are completely silent when it comes to any type of future development, bug fixes, or direction the software is going. If it weren't for the recent release of info that they are still developing SU (the collada thing) I honestly thought that they had what they wanted for Google Earth and weren't going to do anything further on SU.
The lack of development is bad enough, add to that the silence policy they seem to have and it really hits a nerve with me. Five Hundred dollars, 2 years with no development, plus a 100.00 dollar upgrade that actually removed some ease of use...It just doesn't give off a vibe that Google really cares anything about SU, or its user community, beyond what it can do for Google Earth.
Sorry for the rant. To sum up Brodie, I wouldn't look for anything fixed anytime soon, if ever.
Prove me wrong Google. I doubt your going too.

No word from Sketchup. But see my post in this thread: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=11216. A Windows Vista fix for obstinate toolbars that want to jump madly around and not be placed where you put them.

hrm, gave it a shot but it didn't work for me. I even turned off all of the settings. While it did give me the same dull head rush that I used to get working in Windows 98, my toolbars didn't respond any differently

I hear ya! it's so annoying to have to rearrange my tool bars EVERY TIME i start using SU. Google- please, guys- fix this and bring back our back button on the component browser while you're at it. This is pretty basic stuff- no other program i have loaded on my computers suffers from this ill.
Thanks! -
Well, at least the Back button is here.
The toolbar issue is serious - although I have undocked all my toolbars aside my SU window and have been a happy person for quite a while now.
