              Now i let you the steps that i have made to have a good beam of light (The image is a quarter of the real size):

              Photoshop

              A layer in black. New layer on top.

              1. Filter / Render / Lens flare. Blending mode: Screen
              2. Duplicate and Blending mode: Vivid light
              3. Duplicate layer
              4. Duplicate layer and move forward to fill the beam
              5. Same as #4
              6. Same as #4
              7. Same as #4
              8. New layer and draw a white line over the beam. Blending mode: Screen. Filter / Blur / Gaussian blur
              9. Duplicate layer. Blending mode: Soft light.
              10. Radial gradient, color cyan. Blending mode: Overlay.
