House I built - Rendering
-
If you have been around the SCF a while you might remember this project. I built this house over the span of a year or so only to have the clients decide not to build it. So sorry for them but it gave me some great modeling experience and a kick ass model. Two years later I am revamping it for rendering. Fixing some mistakes I made and continuing some neglected details.
I decided to try it with the new Twilight Render.
So here is the first of hopefully many renderings of this house.
C&C welcome.

Looks great Boo, You are taking well to Twilight it seems.
Great model, and well hidden from me.

Ha ha, I have to keep something for myself

Very nice Eric. I love the detail on the house and the lighting. I would try a different sky background though. Something about those puffy white clouds doesn't seem to fit the render. Perhaps a sky photo taken more towards dusk might do the trick.
What twilight preset?

Thanks.
Low+ at 2000 pix wide. I did a line overlay and reduced it to 1000 pix for posting. The render took about an hour and a half if I remember correctly.

What a brilliantly detailed model. Did you model the column/pillaster heads yourself. They're great.
Lovely lighting too. -
Thanks. I did not model those. I did the majority of this 2-3 years ago. I found the column on the old SU forum and modified it a bit. If I had it in me (which I don't) I would build my own.
