The vilain strike back
-
We got a live one here guys....
-
solo ,you yourself canot talk back much, the only time you talk on this forum was to advertise and sell your stuff...
-
Did you buy?
-
I'll get the popcorn....

About time we got some sparks, things were getting boring...
back to issue...
You said "are we not in a democratic country?", the short answer is NO, no we are not and never have been, see electoral college. We do try hard to convince ourselves and the whole world that we are, but in reality we are not even close.
Then again what do you mean by "we"?, judging by your grammar and spelling I'd assume (read hope) that you are a foreigner and English is not your first language, and if you and I are indeed in the same country then maybe a discussion about the failing school system is more important.
edit: By the way welcome to SCF, hope you enjoy your stay.
I am also moving this discussion to the corner bar.
-
any time a response is not to your liking, you find to defuse the thing by moving to an obcure corner, try to ridicule my way of speaking..etc. cheap shot, bigshot!
-
Hmmm..
Okay lets discuss the topic at hand, Adverts!, oh there is already a thread regarding this, and I see your first post ever is there complaining about it, okay I get it you object to the ads.
What can I say, bills need paying, nothing more I can say unless you have a better solution which management has overseen. The ads effect everyone (not sure about the ad bot below) IMO it's a very small price to pay if you consider the content rich forum you are a member of, the free help, free plug-ins, styles, info, etc. Sure ads are a nuisance, nobody likes them, but they really and truly are needed.
-
Sigh...

Don't worry, its not an obscure corner...we all come here and check things out, just in case threads like this show up
-
It wasn't me, it wasn't me ...this time.
But I do enjoy this. You guys have to admit that nowadays it is quite difficult to avoid the numerous threads on this forum that are self-promoting or commercial.
What happened to the guys that are here just to enjoy themselves, to learn and to share (and leach) stuff?Off course, we all 'need to eat', but having a playground is something we need as well.
Sometimes you just need to keep your work at home and come here to play. This reply isn't aimed at anyone in particular, especially not at Solo, as I know he has more to offer than just commercial stuff.

Well, it might not be an obscure corner for you and me.
But I am pretty sure that newcomers aren't watching the Corner Bar closely.
They are going for the pure SU related stuff ,I am sure.So yes, moving topics like this to the corner bar, in a way is covering up the mess.
-
The people who lead SCF should understand that they are 'that' close to scare away lots of people who are looking for an unbiased Sketchup forum.
If advertisement is needed for a forum to survive, then let be it.
But there is advertisement and then there is ADVERTISEMENT.... -
A discussion for the forum issues as opposed to the work of SU needs a proper place. I don't know or care where that is.
I think some are taken aback by some forum members who have companies, but who's involvement in the forum and SU seems to me to be really separate from their business. Some of them have found a natural outlet for their advertisements in the google ads, and people may perceive some sort of cronyism. I think that's overblown, especially given the mostly selfless and enthusiastic SU participation of these members--outside of their commercial venture.
Anyway does OP wish to discuss a real ISSUE or just find an excuse to flame those who have, by dint of sacrifice, come to some position of responsibility and involvement at the forums (and, so by, inspiring envy and rebelliousness)?

I think others will agree that this statement is ridiculous, arrogant and downright rude.

Especially from someone whose contribution to the forums has only been this topic so far.

Deliberately OT...'cos this is getting boring.
Train of thought...The Ad Machine Turns You Off....The Rock Machine Turns You On.
One of the first LPs I ever bought...Far out man.

One of Solo's replies is pure comedy gold. I haven't laughed so much since the burnt down XBOX in Kotaku (check the comments):
http://kotaku.com/5345567/distressed+look-360-up-for-sale-on-ebayBTW, perhaps it's time to implement a system that allows users to give a or a to a post and hide posts below a certain threshold. This would greatly improve the Signal to Noise Ratio in the forums.
