Request - digital watercolor engine

hi all mates.
first please take a look at this:
http://art-yeganegi.blogspot.com/2009/08/my-refined-watercolor-technique.html
....after a looong conversation and discussion here (on SCF) I made some fast and resonable steps to achieve an watercolor render out of sketchup+photoshop....steps are easy now... and needs no strange knowledge of photoshop/sketchup...so I thought maybe if I share the steps, there maybe some artist/coders to make a NPR tool inside Sketchup that makes watercolor-like renders..out of sketchup with no extra need to photoshop... so It would be nice if some masters pay attention to this.

I'm interested for sure. Do you have something posted about the process already? Does it take place inside SU entirely? Or are you looking for someone to make a template exporter of sorts, with a series of images that get plugged easily into Photoshop or something? This has been an interest of mine since before I could write rubies, so let's see what you've got!

it is a combination of SU+PS 2 image exported from SU and then some tricks over them in PS... I hope it is possible inside SU (Chris I PMed you )
-
We'll see if its possible inside of SU. SU does not do image manipulation. But perhaps there could be some sort of PS line commands to run a batch filter on the images or something that could make it work so the user never has to open Photoshop. But I have no experience there, but I am interested in looking into it,

If you want to manipulate bitmap images from Ruby you should look at ImageMagick and a Ruby interface to it. A quick search on RubyForge found two interfaces to the command-line IM tools (which is the way I would go, for SU) and two wrappers for the IM library itself.
I'm familiar with IM, but I have no experience with using it from Ruby either in- or outside of the SU Ruby environment. I'd be glad to help you test/experiment with stuff, though (but only in Windows ).
Hope that helps

Ok mates it is very appreciated...that you are interested in.
I am dreaming a tool that works inside SU, don't know is it possible or not? but waiting suggestions. -
It doesn't work like that. We need to know what your method is to determine if it is doable inside Ruby. ImageMagik lets you do some image editing through a programming interface, but its not nearly as versatile as photoshop or gimp. I think its a better solution, because its free to distribute, so it would be easy to wrap it all up into a script. But we need to know if your process is something that IM could handle... So what exactly needs to be accomplished?
