Well, the inspiration came from the Church of St. Eusebius and Polion, in Vinkovci, Croatia. But the actual model is a mixture of various reference images I stumbled upon, since I couldn´t find any decent close-ups of the above mentioned church. Therefore it is probably not very exact from the architectural point of view.
The only thing I am quite sure about it is the baroque style and ionic columns.
As for moving the topic - if you think it belongs there ( and if it´s good enough), please do so.
Thanks for your patience and time.
P.S. It says "image" at the end of your reply, but I can´t see any?

Hm. So it's Vinkovci. I know it and have been there.

For some reasons (htaccess settings) the image doesn't display. I'll have to check my server. Until then, here is the direct link (click on it) although it's not really important as these churches are all alike in the region.

Edit; hm. it doesn't work with the link either. I'll really have to look into that server.

Very nice, Numbthumb. Can't wait to see the completed model.

          My avatar is an anachronism.

I am really sorry for the delay in replying (just came back from vacation).
As for modeling the volutes, Mirjman - I just made a basic shape using some drawings I found on the net then pushed/pulled a bit and with a little help from Chris Fullmer´s Shape Bender plugin, I managed to create 4 concave parts that I eventually "stitched" together.
I am glad you like it, Daniel.
Hey, I can see the image now, Gaieus, and they do look alike. ( P.S. maybe I am little off topic now, but if you come here again, find some time for a little discussion on history of beer consumption - with some practical work, of course ).
              Cheers!

Yeah, I had to adjust something in my .htaccess file (http://www.sketchucation.com was allowed to hotlink my stuff but forums.sketchucation.com was not).

Now all seems to be fine. 😉

And what about that beer history? My place is not a very traditional beer brewing one (or current brewery dates back to 1848 only).

Not really business - it was rather just driving through mainly and stopping for shorter (always this rush) 😳

But the beer indeed sounds good!
                  😄

Ah! Fine! We'll discuss the details.

Last time I was on a "drinking tour" around there, it was wine in Ilok. Hm... those "Traminaci"
                      😄

He, he. I´ve been there, man.

"Last time I was sober, man I felt bad
Worst hangover that I ever had
It took six hamburgers and scotch all night
Nicotine for breakfast just to put me right"

                        Bottoms up!

Well, nothing really "historic" about beer, just thought we could have a few if you could spare some time.
You were here on business? ( I know about Neolithic remains here, also the town was the birth-place of two Roman emperors: Valens and Valentinian )
