      Hi all,

this is my first post to the forum,

im new in sketchup and can use the basic tools to draw some simple things.
i am interested in sketchyphysics and already tried the demo of the car with spinning wheels and i was surprised with it.

however, i am trying to find similar simple demos for the other joints (slider, servos, motors , spring ) on the net but i had no luck.

is there a simple tutorial to show how to use (in its simple form) each joint ???

if so please direct me to it !!

Im mostly interested in making a spear propelled along a chaneel (basically i am trying to draw up a speargun and give the spear 'life' !!!)

      Thanks,

      Giorkos

Look for the tutorial in the sticky posts at the top of the forums. There you will also find links to the wiki and other information.

i have checked out the wiki as you said.

i have a general idea of how to make them work , and i will experiment with the different joints on simple blocks just ot learn how they work-behave.

if i get stuck im sure i will resolve my issues here !!!

          Thanks again,

          George

When I was trying to learn how to use Sketchy Physics I looked for tutorials on You Tube. You can also look though the 3D Warehouse. Some tutorials are more helpful than others. But the useful and helpful ones are far and few in between.

I agree, the tutorials are not really very helpful imho.

I'm trying to figure out how to use SketchyPhysics and I've tried
several "tutorials". I uploaded part of a sample file to the 3D
Warehouse so I could reference it when asking questions. It is called
              "sketchy puppet"

First, I notice that many of the hinges in samples have a line through
              them. What is its purpose?

Second, I have been trying to recreate the shoulder joints on the
puppet and I cannot figure out how to make them. I used "unhide" and
discovered that the hinges appear to be inside spheres. Would anyone
be able to give me step by step instructions on how the shoulder
              joints are put together?

There really is no purpose of the lines in the hinges. It basically tells you the axes on which the hinges are aligned too. And try using a ball joint or a universal joint to create the shoulder movements instead of 2 hinges
