      HI

I hope someone can advice me of a plugin that can do as described below.

I want a plugin that can move and rotate all selected components

I want the plugin to rotate all components with the longest side of the component in the X axes direction

Rotate all the component so the biggest area surface is faced in the z axes direction.

Move all components so they are stacked in top of each other, like in a big pile of components that just lay in top of each other.

I am doing a lot of furniture’s made of different components, I need to make a rough packing instruction for the shipment department so I need to arrange all the components so they will take up minimum of space in the packing.

I really need some help where I can find a plugin to do this job..

Hope to hear from any one soon.... thanks in advance...

      BRG.

That is do-able. I don't know if I can get to it right away, but its a fairly straightforward script to write. I'm not convinced it will work magically, but I suppose it will automate a big part of your process.

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.
        All my Plugins I've written

Yes it will not do all things needed for the finish packing solution,,, but it will automate a big part of that process...

Well take you're time,,, and if any information needed then just ask..... thanks a lot for looking at this for me...

Seems Grow by Tig makes some things that you wish and more as it makes size for the same price πŸ’š
Or I don't understand that you want 😳

Thanks for you're attention to this, but that is not exactly what i want it to do...

I have attached 2 pic that describe the start model and what i want the ruby to do...

              Chris what do you think???

              The model when assembled

The model exploded and stacked in a pile

                πŸ˜„
Indeed that was not exactly the same πŸ˜’
Seems very practical for packaging πŸ‘

For the fun maybe you can make something with Sketchyphysics3
Put all components in a big transparent box
                And rotate this big box
As each components have their own density
they move between them with different speed
                so natural order β˜€

Just idea before the Chris'plug πŸ’š

PS Don't understand the order shown πŸ˜„

Yes it is not 100% in good order,,, the best would be to have the same components laying in top of each other or maybe in the end of each other..
It really depend on different type of products...

                  Any ideas is welcome...

                  Thanks,,,
