I really like the sketchy style, you need to refine the sky a little bit (I have the most troble with skies so that is something I really lok at) but I like the building and the model, a few more images would help to see the total design IMHO.

Hi Allax, well done on your work.

I had forgotten about checking out the results of this competition. I just did so now at http://seasteading.org/design-contest-winners#picture and I think you can be assured that your entry was up there in the running.

Actually, not to belittle the winning entry, I fail to see that it could have been a practical solution but again I dont have the full picture.

Perhaps you could elaborate on your proposal by showing us more images and details?

          Mike

Thanks Mike and Bob sorry for the late reply....

My concept for the shape of the plan of my structure came from the shape of a crosshatch " # " if you'll see the plan....
I think this shape is stable and can withstand the sea wind and storm....

My design is a mixed use facility which houses a resort and a hotel like accommodation that can handle large business meeting and leisure activities....

These are the images of my design that I submitted to the Institute....

I still think the Winner was not the best / most pratical. Your entry on the other hand Allan looks to be modular and in my books, practical and 'buildable'.

I like these images...especially the sketchy one. Is that a straight SU style or did you do that in post process?

                  Mike,

The institute I think is not looking for a practical solution at the moment, what they are looking for are more of a aesthetic looking presentation rather than the design. I have thought of that at the beginning of my design but as a trained Architect I did what I am trained to do. That is to design a more practical and easy to build spaces...😄
The reason for this say's the Institute is to encourage more people to participate and get involved in their vision and I think also is to make them donate money to generate funds...

                  steelers05,

I'm glad that you like the sketchy version, I've used Piranesi for that to add a more artistic and natural feel to the image...

                  Cheers,

                  allanx
