      Shield_221st_temp_small.jpg

I did this while recovering from the flu. It was the military insignia of the 221st Signal Company (pictorial)in Vietnam. It did not exist in 68-69 when I was leading a photo and I only recently became aware of it. This model doesn't seem like something that should challenge my computer but the sketchup model bring the machines to its knees. The render is done in Kerkythea and completes in about 15 minutes.

I used a closeup photo of a cloisonne pin as my reference for the shield which was about 3/4 inch tall

All the shapes are filleted which accounts for most of the 82,130 edges and 38,427 faces. There are 29 components and 11 materials.

The last straw was trying to apply the bend rb to curve the face of the whole thing. I guess it does not matter how much RAM you have it is never enough.
