Might it be "Pigskin" as in football? And the plane with a thought might be the new "Dreamliner" from Boeing?

It's an unadorned 747 without side windows (cargo version?) thinking of Air Force One, which is also a 747, highly modified and adorned. Neither is a Dreamliner; both are quite old in design. Maybe the plain plane is wishing for all the fancy upgrades, but I can't think of an appropriate pun (unless "plain plane" is it)...
P.S. Good one, Eric!

Nope not pig skin.
Hint 3 - It is a negative sports term.

not plain plane (though you're correct about a plain plane wishing for all the fancy upgrades).. dreamliner was close because it contains part of the answer (nothing to do with the actual plane - this is the first i've heard of Dreamliner)

lol it seems so simple now, is it dreamplane....

not dreamplane..
fwiw, the answer is a pun.. from wikipedia:

A pun, or paronomasia, is a form of word play that deliberately exploits ambiguity between similar-sounding words for humorous or rhetorical effect.
[edit] actually, i guess the answer dreamplane would be a pun. i just didn't read it right as one word.. punning off the phrase "that's my dream house" could very well be a picture of a house having a dream etc..
