Does anybody know, if the xy-axises of the SN can be rotated 90° ? I have this gadget for a few days now (because everybody using this doesn't ever want to live without) and am forcing myself to get used to this. I was kind of optimized in using keyboard+mouse, so it's a bit hard.. There are only two buttons on it, and these buttons ergonomically could be used better, if i could turn the whole navigator around 90°. Thumb on right button, middle finger on left button and e.g. moving forward by pushing the stick with my thumb.

      Any suggestions?

Can you just turn the navigator 90 degrees on your desk? moving forward by pushing sideways might not something that they built in, as it would just confuse most people to the point of insanity.

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

Firstly I cannot help with what you ask as I use a Space Explorer and not a navigator, I do not however believe you can switch the axis.
With only two buttons available on that gadget I hardly believe it can realisticaly substitute the use of your keyboard, which may complicate your workflow even more IMO as now you will need your mouse, navigator and keyboard.
I also know how difficult it is to get used to a new gizmo, and a new navigation tool is a tough one to master, took me months but as you say it does become an invaluable tool once you can integrate it.
May I suggest you look at a more featured (read buttons) 3D connexion gadget instead, one that can be customised to your ergonomic needs, as I think you will only get frustrated trying to make the navigator fit your needs.
