AUTO-CUT faces / objects - ruby request

And another one:
is it possible to write a ruby (or is there one) that checks a set of selection and cuts openings into them (like around pre-placed centerpoints at different places), leaving a predefined rest- like a structure of a bone? I think there is some kind of script in the "architecture world" that simulates this cellular collective, but i don't know it's title- maybe there could be one like this for SU.
i'm curious about the answers

I actually think this exists, but I think it costs a bit of money ($100 - 300 US or something? I could be waaay off though) and I can't remember the name of it for the life of me, and I ahve NO CLUE where I saw a link for it. It is something that never gets discussed on this forum that I can remember.
It would be do-able in ruby for sure though. do you have a better example - pics and links to this in action? That would help a ruby developer decide better if they want to or know how to tackle something like this.
I'd be really interested if someone out there could remember what script I"m thinking of

There is a video of a lecture by Tom Wiscombe from Emergent on youtube..
but it's really unviewable, the sound is too crappy. In the first part he explains how they learn from nature and adopt its structures.
At about 4:30 he talks about this special script, but i'm not native english, so i just can't figure out, what he's saying. Maybe you can find out
(if you listen carefully "behind" the noise).Btw. there are lots of ways "to reach rome" and "generating" architecture, e.g. using the hair-module of cinema- but i'm still collecting the pieces. Seems like if i have to travel to Britain and take a seat in his (Toms) lectures...

Interesting, that might be what I was thinking about. The site doesn't look familiar, but the output is approximately what I was thinking of.
