-
Thanks Marion, Daniel but still a long way to go i will show more later today
-
Whaoo Dolphus
I like the way you're displaying the progress. Quite impressed, now I know that I'm not alone to need so many
time to achieve complex drawings.MALAISE
-
Excellent, so many details, how big is this model!
-
The main file is about 9;46 meg at the moment but i am working in bits and pieces in various other drawings of the same project, that is where i am now running into problems with rendering the model the following ate the bestquality that i can get at the moment without my poor old laptop bombing out
-
Thats looking good! What are you using to render, I joined these forums to find a good renderer for sketchup on the MAC and would be interested in the one your using here? ANyway looking forward to this finished ill have to keep my eye on it!
-
Thanks for the kind words i am using Kerkythea but still have a lot to learn about rendering i don't think i am going to get much further than i am now either the file is to big or i have a glitch in my laptop
BUT NEVER SAY DIE -
you mean the file is too big for kerk or SU? I thought your model size was just under 10MB?, is it usual for kerk to struggle with models 10MB plus or does it depend on your computer?

Say what...???
I've never had such a problem in KT...!!What can cause problems is if you have a huge number of lights in your scene combined with self-emitting mesh and then if you use one of the photonmap render presets...
I have a 56Mb SU scene giving me huge issues in SU but none in KT and it renders without any difficulties...Please don't spread such false rumours...!!
-
lol what you talking about spreading rumors?
I was asking a question in response to this statement:"The main file is about 9;46 meg at the moment but i am working in bits and pieces in various other drawings of the same project, that is where i am now running into problems with rendering the model the following ate the bestquality that i can get at the moment without my poor old laptop bombing out".
Thats why I was curious as im interested in getting Kerk but was worried about my laptop freezing as some of my models are 100MB.
-
Sorry - I misunderstood your first comment and thought it was a statement rather than a question...

In KT you can work with very huge models for sure...
You can see an example I've posted in the Looking for a good software for rendered animations thread... The museum model is impossible to work with in SU, but I had no issues at all in KT...P.S. dolphus - sorry for the hi-jacking of your thread...
-
No problem, i know that it is not the Kerkythea, but my own laptop has a bug at the moment it cuts out if i push it a bit it is a memory related bug as it does the same thing when my train simulator has been running for a few minutes, and if i have several programs open and go online to download things, with my limited knowledge of hardware i am trying to find the problem, any help will be greatly appreciated
-
Sadly this is as far sa i can go with the problem on my laptop, this was done at an image size of 500x500 and the quick setting anything higher than this mt laptop switches itself off after about 8 minutes, i may get a chance to have it looked at next week....so for now the loco is on hold..thanks for the comments and discussion to all
-
I have not yet sorted out the problem of rendering in big files on my laptop so i have started a new project hoping to have a smaller polly to render.....my Tram..
-
Hi dolphus. the tram looks good . If you want I can render the GP9 for you... if you want me to render it just Email it to me at becenu(at)gmail(dot)com .
-
Thanks Dantheman for the offer just jive me a chance to tidy it up then i will send it to you
-
It's a bit to much for my render exporter, this is where the exporter quit on me
-
thanks for trying i must say it still looks good i did not think that the wheel etc would look so good, thank you once more
i will sometime re-draw the loco with less detail ...or get my laptop sorted
