        some good stuff here, folks!
there's a great little tutorial put together by Patricks about modeling this type of "liquid in a glass" scene found on Kerkythea's forum in this thread.
        here it is:

YEAH!!! that's exactly what i've tryed to show on video. thank's man!

              SketchUp + Kerkythea
Modeling as per my previous post (confirmed by Fletch 😉 )
Rendered using a global from sIBL Archive.
Preset 20 - Metropolis Light Transport (BPT) / 150 passes
Still a bit grain, some of it removed with Neat Image.
Once again, missed the caustics 😢

                It's a really great render...!! 👍
Nice detail with the bubles in the champagne...!

I see some refracted light on the tabletop, especially on the rear-most glass.

Thanks EscapeArtist & Frederik. I meant I would have prefered to have these caustics sharper, like in Thomthom's first image.

To me that just looks like reflected light. Not caustics. This is what I expect from caustics: [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caustic_(optics](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caustic_(optics))

Not sure why the link you've posted to Wikipedia doesn't give a result... 😕
But I'm well aware about what caustic is all about... 😉

So caustics isn't the light effect you see in the images on that page?

What I say is that it's caustic I see in the render Eulgrand posted and not just light reflections...

I'm trying to work out what is the cautic effect in it. ...oooh... wait. is it in the shadow on the right side of the glass furthest in the back? Looking now it looks like some light in the middle of it. A very very faint effect?

I think the reason why the caustics are that weak is because the scene is lit by HDR.
Sun light would definitely show more caustics imo.

I think you have it there. Multiple light sources seem to have washed them out. If the scene was rendered with those glasses in sunlight, I'm sure they'd throw some nice caustics.
