Speed Indicator Problem Fixed
-
i noticed that all previous attempts at a speed indicator were not functional. i figured out how by using the ontouch feature. check the model and play the sim. when speed is increased(press up arrow key), the arrow will move(right meter). but most other attempts depended on controller input. for example: if you put a control slider and increase it to full speed, the example vehicle would take some time to speed up, but the meter would move to the position indicated on the slider. it shows the intended speed, not the true speed. to fix this i used an arrangement of boxes one behind the other, all set to change a single variable to a higher figure when touched. i placed another box in front of all the boxes, connected to a spring, so upon being subjected to acceleration, the box would trail behind a bit, touching the boxes and resetting the variables.
