Very nice package Solo. I signed up to be notified on new ones. And very nice price as well!
I can agree to this...!!
And I can confirm that they're perfect for rendering in KT as well...!! -
Thanks guys.
Good news (phew!!) I downloaded another vray trial (running out of email addresses) and rendered scene without any material adjustments, actually without any adjustments period. and all the plants rendered without having to explode any components, so I can say that my plants work with the new version of Vray without hitch.
Excuse the pathetic render, I am new to vray and just wanted to see if the plants rendered okay.
-
Wow Solo! These are gorgeous and will come in very handy. This college student is gonna have to sacrifice a couple meals to get this one!! Priorities

dear solo-
regarding the deeply nested component issue, you might find this explaination by adamb very interesting about components/containers and processor usage:

Thanks Pete for the very nice collection.
A great purchase, real value for money. Already looking forward to the next collection. -
every time I tried to view this thread I was at work and could see none of the images... so could not contribute my request as I had no idea what you had done.
now am downloading my new purchase, thanks Solo!
I would make a request still however, I would like a couple of good 'parking lot' trees... kind of like the now-classic SU aspen... but better looking and more full. If you want photographic examples or scientific names I can get them for you.
-
Solo thanks for the time n effort. This is definitely better than anything I found on 3D Warehouse. I just wish the conversion rate was better. Used to be £1 = $2 now its £1 = $1.3.

Thank you very much for releasing this wonderful collection, Master Solo. I put these plants to work immediately. Rendered in Kerkythea, post-processed in Photoshop. I hope my client likes it .
And I also hope the Washingtonia palm is high on your list for Vol. 2 .
-
That looks fantastic Miguel, and the plants look good too
I like the style, I really need to learn how to do water colors (I work with PSP not photoshop so tutorials are thin on the ground)
I have a washingtonia palm planned as well as a Silver date hybrid palm.
-
Chango... this collection is still very, very cheap. Just compare with anything out there. Never mind the pain bringing it from 3ds to SU.
Solo I hope you plan to bring some trees as well. -
I agree. Just bemoaning how much the Pound have droped in the last half a year. Great work I love them!

First of all, Solo, AMAZING STUFF! I will be purchasing your first pack for sure. Second, Ecuadorian, can you give us a tut on how you achieved the watercolor effect in ps?

Sure, it's just a Photoshop "action" and some layer masking. I posted the info here:

Anyone interested in Oil painted .png's of a variety of trees?
Here is a sample, feel free to use it as you please.

Try Guerrilla Mail's disposable addresses. Extremely useful in those cases when you don't want to be spammed to death just for downloading a demo of a product.

There are actually a whole bunch of services like that (quite a few members here registered with them as well). -
I'm always the last to know... But it's a good thing, actually. It means I can ask anyone for advice... As they say, what matters is not knowing, but having the phone number of the one who knows
Now, back to topic... Another Kerkythea render (1 minute 12 seconds for PhotonMap quick + a few seconds for the depth render). This time I decided to "focus" on a particular plant, thanks to GIMP:

I saw the garden pack on the store page but I'm wondering if you're thinking of doing the same with trees and larger foliage?
