Selection of hidden geometry

Hidden geometry
Sometimes I wish to see the hidden geometry on a group/component that is behind or inside a hidden group/component.
So is it possible to turn on hidden geometry on just a selected group/component, such that the hidden geometry in the foreground does not show up?
As an example, I may have one side of a box hidden so that I can see inside the box. However, I wish to align groups inside the box, and I don’t wish to have the hidden side to show up. Just have the hidden geometry of the selected groups show.

Yes, this can be done with Ruby. Are you wanting to write a script or find one that is written?

Yes to both. Did some searching couldn’t find anything on selecting groups/component for displaying hidden geometry.
