A few questions
-
Hi guys,
Question 1. At our place of work we use Cinema 4D for modelling and all render output. Since talking our guys around to Sketchup we have all purchased 4 Pro versions in our team. The thing is when we import our model into Cinema 4D, we bring it in as a 3DS file to retained the full heirachy and structure. One of the big downfalls is that we lose the ability to retain components through this procedure. Currently I dont know of any plugins for Sketchup to Cinema 4D retaining this information. Just wondered if anyone knew of any current or future developements to further streamline our process.
Question 2. Totally different. At work we use Sketchup on a Mac platform, whilst at home I use it on a PC. I have noticed on my PC I am able to display materials as a list and different sized thumbnails. On the Mac I cannot see this function anywhere. Anyone know if this is possible on a Mac version. Would also be nice to see both the thumbnail and name like in other app's.
Many thanks in advance.

i tihnk you'll really need to talk to google aobut question 1, as they're the ones who developed the exporter and os will be the ones making any updates to it. Similarly i dont tihnk anyone has written a 3rd party 3ds exporter, although as far as im aware its possible (and within the EULA last time i checked.) So that might be something worth looking in to.
As for part 2, im not sure.
