Getting Lap Top for my work
-
So...I'm planning to buy Lap Top for my work and it ofcourse it will have to run Sketchup well enough. And this is what I might get:
**HP Pavilion dv9751** * Processor: AMD Athlon 64x2 TK-57 * Graphic Card: Nvidia GF7150 (integrated) * Memory: 2GB 667MHz DDR (2 x 1GB) * Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premiumor
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T8100
Memory: 4GB 667MHz DDR (2x2Gb)
Graphic Card: nVidia GeForce Go 8600M (512 MB)
Could anyone tell me, will it run well enough?
And please answer soon as possible, thanks!

Only one peice of advice:
Do not get an integrated video card ... trust me!
They do not work well with medium to large models, I recently got a sony vaio with dedicated 8800 card and I do not look back, best buy under $1200.

Umm...why not? Aren't all Lap Top Graphic Cards integrated?

SU works better with a good GPU, and nvidia 8000 series is proving a great match, integrated graphics just does not have the 'balls' for seamless workflow in SU.

Nope, the higher end stuff for CAD and CG use, as well as gaming all have dedicated cards these days, making lappy's a serious mobile tool.

Those Sony VAIO's are pretty expensive and I don't know any lap top with un-integrated GPU.

If you do not know any laptop that is not integrated you are not looking hard enough. Most any laptop worth its weight to do 3D will have a dedicated video card. Some will even have 2 in SLI.

IMO the Dell XPS' are a great buy, slightly above the price I was willing to spend, but if you can afford one then go for it.

Well what about this one then?
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T8100
Memory: 4GB 667MHz DDR (2x2Gb)
Graphic Card: nVidia GeForce Go 8600M (512 MB)

That would work just dandy!!

I have a Vaio with an 8400GT card and it runs SU fine.
