Scanner Purchase Advice again
-
I've put it off as long as I can. I really need a new scanner. In a perfect world I would be able to get one that does really good "art" quality scans AND also has an attachment that allows use as photocopy machine AND it isn't too expensive.
The function that I guess I would drop if it were too expensive would be the photocopy one.
I know these things change so rapidly that maybe something new is available since the last time I asked this. So if anyone has experience with some of the newer scanners on the market I would love to hear from you.

Susan,
You might want to look at the Epson "all-in-ones" -- specifically the RX595 ($150) or the RX640 ($200). Limited to 8.5 x 11 scans and they do a decent job, but they also do color copies and are very good photo printers (6 ink cartridges).Paul

Thanks Paul, I appreciate the input. It looked like I wasn't going to get any so I tried to find reviews and and hemmed and hawed and finally decided on one that is a little bit more expensive than I wanted to go, and it got mixed reviews, but it had the features I wanted. So I went with the HP 7650. It is a flat bed scanner with an attacehd ADF that does as many as 50 sheets, including legal size. It also does photos and negatives, not tha we need that in a digital world anymore.
Anyway, I hope I made a good choice. I like HP and the price I bought this one for was a good deal at CAN$445.
