I was asked by my soon to be new boss if I have ever heard of a modeling program called "ICE". Another company is using it and he liked the look of it for certain situations. I googled it and came up empty. I am not sure if it is a plugin for MAX or some other program or an actual app. I still have not seen output from it only he has and with his limited knowledge of 3D he did not give a god enough explaination for me to narrow it down. This "other" company will be competing with us for work so I would like to know what I am up against.

      Thanks,
      Scott

I've never heard of it either but I did a search and came up with this:

        http://www.ice-edge.com/home.php

I don't know if it's the same software as your boss mentioned but this looks like a very technical Autocad plugin for interior office design and manufacturing.

I had a quick look, but i cant see anything obvious.

Perhaps its an in house piece of software? i suppose it depends on how big the company is really (wether theyve got enough resources to develop their own modeling program.)

Thanks Kenny, I kind of figured it was something like that. I do not even like the look of it. It is more function than output appearance.

Scott, the Dirtt (Doing It Right This Time) representative came to our office last year and showed us the "ICE" program.
I was mildly interested and got an access code which allowed me to test the program out. (I believe they have a free demo online now).
It deals with modular office interiors and allows designers to create spaces and easily price the product. It deals with the Dirtt product only (unless I am mistaken).

It is a nice little program but I did not use it past a week of demo. Also, I must have thrown out all the info and codes etc. on my last office clean up as I cannot find anything on it. I just happened to remember the name Dirtt.

              Home Page:
              http://www.dirtt.net/home/index.php
Ice program link at top or go here:
              http://www.dirtt.net/ice/
Click on the demo to see what it does.
