Point, Length and Angle Selection

I'm hoping some of the resident ruby experts will be able to help me.
Is there a simple way to obtain a mouse point pick value without coding a tool class?
(something like 'getpoint' in autocad vba.)Also is it possible to use the Sketchup protractor to select and return an angle in ruby?
Any help will be appreciated.
