Gyro?

I don't get what the 'Gyro' tool is and what it can be used for. Someone please explain or make a tut or something because it is really bugging me. Thanks in advanced, StarWarsKnower.

You can use it to keep something from falling over.
-Create a tall cylinder.
-Create a gyro. Draw it in the blue direction(up).
-Attach the cylinder to the gyro.
-Press play and try to tip the cylinder over.I'll admit its a weird joint. It cant be grouped so it cant move. And you can get some really strange results depending on what direction the joint is pointing.
A few 3dwarehouse models use it to good effect. Some use it keeping robots and walkers from falling over.

Kl thanks, I still dont get what difference it makes when you put it on the red or green axis, I cant find anything different. But I see now when you put it on the blue it doesnt fall over though. Thats cool.

If you put it in red or green the cylinder will fall over but never roll. Try pointing it in different directions not on axis and you will see some really wierd behavior
