A New Experience for me

Hi Guys,
I've really wanted to get into / learning about rendering for
some time. I was hoping that Podium for Mac would have hit the
scene by now but I will have to wait a little longer, I'm sure
Version 2 for both Win and Mac will be super.Anyway, as a stop gap I have started using Podium 1.5 via
Parallels on the Mac. It's a little cumbersome as SketchUp does
not perform too well under Parallels but if I do all the set up
work under OSX its not too bad.For the past couple of mornings its been like checking to see if
the Hens have laid, great fun. So its bacon, eggs and a renderMike

Mike, That's delightful. Looking forward to more renders from you ... and to Podium for Mac. Fred

Thanks Fred, It will be a while before I feel my standard will
be good enough to post, but I'm getting the hang of it fast.
Podium really makes it so easyMike

Dont worry aobut the intial quality mike, everyone will be too busy gawking at the poor quality of my rnders to notice anythign bad in yours
could you post a larger version of that one? its pretty hard trying to see whats going on with that little thing...

Remus, Here is a larger pic of what I'm cutting my teeth on. Its the apartment that I'm fitting out with the IKEA furniture that I've been modeling. I'm just playing around with the features but have yet to learn how to produce a decent interior shot

Looking good mike, seems like all that work on the IKEA furniture is paying of handsomely

That is really yummy Mike. Looks like you need to be posting in the main Render Forum and not tucked away over here. Show off man!

Geee, thanks guys. I'm gradually getting the hang of Podium.
While it is a very simple program to get underway with, it has
a hidden depth of control but does require some experiment work.I have yet to figure out how to properly get a daylight effect
in a room. The render I posted really is a 'cheat' as I gave
the ceiling a light value then cropped it out of the picture,
well it works to a certain extentI'm playing around with the 'Omni' lights / features and think
this has to be mastered to achieve what I want. I probably will
come up with my own 'cobbled' workflow, but what the hell!, as
long as it achieves the desired effect.Mike
