Cemetery Chapel
-
Hi everyone.
I've been working on the old chapel at a local cemetery. The model is based on photos with no measurements available to me. I also took a little "artistic" license with the design. Any advice or critique is welcome. You won't hurt my feelings, you'll just help me do a better job.
I created the cut-outs in the bell tower from squares and triangles. I was very excited to accomplish this look.
I did the roof vents with a pull and a move. That took forever. Thanks for looking!

Nice work, seriously.
Did you use components for all those repeated elements? The vents shouldn't have taken so long if you did. -
Nice work Nomi, thats the spirit, there is no
alternative to practice.Keep on it and Youll
be geting better and better before You know it.The bell tower that took You ages You will be completing in seconds. Keep at it. -
Thanks for taking the time to respond. Everyone here is very encouraging.
No,Gaieus, I didn't make the roof vents a component. I did each slat on each one individually. I forget that SU has such valuable, time-saving tools. I get too caught up in the drawing.
This is the first model I've done with absolutely no components. I wanted to work on solving drawing problems by hand. I think it was great for learning just what I could do on my own, without borrowing other's components.
I did speed up the cutouts on the tower by creating a 3x3 grid of them on a box in the air and copying and moving them to where I needed them to be.

Nomi, using components does not mean that you need to use**others'**pre-made ones. You can just make one piece of anything that repeats in the model and make a liner(ro radial) array of them to cover bigger areas.
Way faster method and also file size saving. -
Thanks Gaieus, I'll remember that.
