QuickTime 3D output of SU model

I was playing around the other day (well, a while ago - even posted it in one of the forums...) with the "CubicPanoOut" plugin that creates 6 images (up, down left, right, front, back) which then can be put together as a 3D QuickTime movie where you can look around.

I know that "FormerlyKnownAsMartin" has made a brilliant one with rendered images in Kerky - here is his model (I hope, Martin that you don't mind me linking it here):

that script works awesome! i try to use it as much as possible...i just made a pretty cool quicktime VR, but unfortunately am not allowed to show it!

I, too, absolutely love this script! I had asked John a few months ago if he would tweak it so we could choose which frames we want to export which would allow quicker image generation for composting. Hopefully he is still considering it!

I really think QTVR is the best way to put model information on the web; you can't beat the amount of information you can present with such small file sizes. And the interactivity is a great selling point for clients as it keeps people on the site much longer.

Nice panoramas, indeed - though they download a little bit slowly (sure higher resolution is needed for nice, detailed zooming...)

There is a "virtual tour" of my city but made in Java - and if you turn on the "Info" layer, it gives a nice interactivity to it as well (for some reason, in my computer the text popups are popping under...)

With the same Java technique was the virtual reconstruction of the Roman Baths (Bath, England) presented so it is also a good technique for 3D modelling (unfortunately the wensite is currently not available foör the domain it was hosted at has expired but I hope we can "revive" it soon...)
