Okay, okay -- I only wish I had a SketchUpMobile. My real car is a new Dodge Calibre which I'd highly recommend for anyone wanting good value in a economy car. A good practical family car.

We also have an 97' Escort Wagon which has served us well. We recently rewarded it with some body work and a new paint job even though it spends most of its time in the garage. Looks like new.

        Regards, Ross

Well, I'm in Texas - so I have a pickup truck. '97 Chevy 1/2 ton, V6. No big deal. 111K miles - not bad for 10 years old.

This is my current project. When I'm not eating or sleeping, or working the day job, or programming in the evenings, or laying by the pool, this is what I'm working on - a '67 Mustang restoration project for my 16 year old son. Hope to be done in about 3 months.

This is what it looked like when we got it:

I've started welding the cowl back on since that was taken.

This is the 17 year old BMW we drove around on vacation the past 2 weeks. We travelled about 3800 Km with it. Parts were coming off while we were driving, paint began to come off and it smelled like gas 24/7.

However,.. It did pull 200 kmph on the autobahn rather easy with 4 people and bags and tents in it (thats a full trunk and a full back seat) and we believe it could have done 220 if the damn audi A8 would have moved out of the way in time πŸ˜›
It's one of the first sport series of BMW and its not build for acceleration but more for top speed we found out πŸ˜„ . My respect to that car!

John -- every time I see an Australian vehicle I can't help but think of the bush mechanics of the central desert. I happened upon the tv program a few times and it was among the most entertaining TV I've ever seen. One time my then six-year old son saw it with me. He watched with his mouth wide open in curious amazement. I probably had my jaw dropped too. πŸ˜›

Boo... that's what the last paying job I had gave me for a company truck, a 2002 1500 4 door with the southwest package... that truck was like a sports car with a huge towing capacity, those tires would grip the road like no-body's business!

well I was waiting to see everyone else's ride...

I totaled my baby about 1 year ago, I was building a Bass Pro in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and they have crazy turn around times, so we work like 70 to 80 hours a week... anyway, the job was done and we were leaving in two days, we had been there for about 2 months and I was driving to work at about 5:30 am and I fell asleep at the wheel. although the airbag woke me up right after I hit the first tree head on, shearing the 14" diameter Palm Tree at it's base. I was fully aware for the next tree, which would bring me to a solid halt. I was not wearing my seatbelt, and buckled my steering wheel around the column. after it was all said and done I had one small scratch on my chin, and some bite marks on the inside of my mouth, but other than that no damage to me... a tribute to my truck, may she rest in peace.253212.jpg wreck_F150_001.jpg wreck_F150_002.jpg wreck_F150_003.jpg
P.S. I don't think they are really palm trees there was another name for them, but they cost about 7,000.00 US for one that size. I know that now....

so I purchased this new baby, although I don't have the love for it like my last one, she's proven to be equally tough, and very spacious98_EXPY_Body_1_Oclock.jpg

When I think of Australian cool vehicles, I think of a movie called (I think) Alice to Nowhere... It was long ago, I'd like to see it again.

I have a bicycle. No photos though.
I live about half a minute from my workplace and everything I often go to is in walking distance. If not, I take a bus - or in very extreme cases borrow my parents' car (once or twice a year).

I used to drive one of these...just this color (although I just pulled this image from the web)...but it was only a two seater and therefore not terribly useful once my first daughter was born. So I sold it for almost as much as I had paid for it two years before. I actually see my old car fairly regularly parked in the neighborhood...there just weren't many of these things sold, although I enjoyed it quite a bit and it handled snow and ice beautifully. I never got the 70 miles per gallon that some claimed it was capable of, but consistently I did pull between 54-60 MPG when I was driving back and forth between Boston and New Haven on the highway.

(I also own a Toyota Prius, but we all know what they look like. My wife usually drives it.)
