the background, I take it thi a mix of post processing, but what parts are what? what is real if anything and what is not? what is rendering and what is SU...
you have to let us in on some of those secrets...

The SU output is attached below. Not exactly the best modelling is it ?
Everything else was composited in PS. The boat hull and sail are from separate reference photos. Some layering, hand-painting with a Wacom, etc...A.

Andy! I'm flabergasted! That sail is so realistic I can smell the salt on it! You're a craftsman without a dought!I have been trying to model my boat but it finished up looking like a tin bath, I've got a fair bit of learning to do yet. I'm having trouble with the complex curves at bow and stern. I think once I have mastered that I'll make progress. A very beautiful and realistic scene, thank you for sharing and giving me something to strive for.
