Waterfront House Night Render (SU and KT)
-
Or use one of the free KT tree models the KT Team pleased us with.
I'd also add some more light (turn them up a little bit) - to me the scene looks a bit dark. Otherwise I like it much! -
Well Gareth, this is fantastic work for an Orangutang, well done
Mike
PS: Just kidding of course

yes the trees...!!!.......i still haven't worked out how to use the Xfrog trees in KT yet
Fletch.......believe it or not, I have used the KT Thin Glass....i might need to adjust the transparency

Have you checked out the threads in the KT Forum, where it's explained how you use the Xfrog trees..??
Xfrog Sweet Birch - KT Model library
Xfrog Public Trees - KT Model Libraries
Xfrog Public Trees - Chestnut...It's really simple... Don't be scared...

Yes indeed, so simple that even I could figure out!

hmmm... thinking... why are there no reflections in your glass if you are using the Thin Glass shader? I'm guessing then that your b/g image is not a spherical/hemispherical sky? If it were, it would liven up the scene immensely... by giving the glass something to reflect.

Hi Fletch,
I'll study up on the Xfrog trees this weekend when i'll be able to work without being disturbed......aaaah the peace and quiet of an Easter weekend....!!!
I used the spherical sky.......what i have noticed is that the reflections show up in a daytime render but not the night time render
Maybe if i change the transparency settings of the glass perhaps it may help
.....I'll try again.
Thanks for the helpful comments so far...!!

Hi Guys,
I assume that reflections only should show when there is more light reaching the camera from outside than inside. It's just like the opposite; in daytime renders you can hardly get a view when you can have a good look into a room through the window (you need to get pretty close in order to let more light come from inside than outside into the camera).

guess you're right guys... please excuse my lapse in logic... so how's this coming Gareth? anything further? I'm very interested to see how this one turned out...
-
Hi Fletch......I havn't had much spare time on my hands to develop this on any further yet.
....it's difficult to balance the business side of making money, with the enjoyable side of playing with SU and KT.
I have a couple of projects to complete fairly urgently....as soon as I have got those out of the way I'll be able to play again and learn more..!!.....and I'm looking forward to it.
Cheers,
Gareth
