Just wanted to try something new w/the FFD Ruby script . . . just having fun . . . the near-instant "what if" factor is so cool . . .

OOOPss i don't why but it didn't crossed my mind that it was on the wrong side of the road for the last dousin renders i made of some models.I guesss i made it like that because i preffer looking at cars from that angle and also wanted to render more of the grass because it gives it a certain feeling πŸ˜›.
Before the server backup i posted on this thread that i find your models interesting and inspirational but i'm sorry that i don't see more pictures of how your cars look finished, that's too bad because they have great potential.

Wow, what a great date with the wife! We had a fantastic steak dinner and didn't make it to the store to peruse the lawn furniture.

              So, of course, as soon as I got home I whipped out this little form study . . . is it going or coming? It's symmetrical front-back & left-right . . . hmmmm . . . ❓

                . . . and a non-symmetrical version . . .

There are times when you have to try to do something instead of just "lurking around". So I gave a shot to your truck, Brad, too (using Kerkythea and Preset #6 with soft shadows. I also used different HDRI's for lighting.

Here the HDRI - together with the sun - is obviously too much. Also the car paint looks somewhat flat.
                  Another angle - same mistakes.
A third anle - finally figured out to get the diffuse off the lights.

                  Gai...

Then added some shininess to the car paint and immediately it was way better than the previous ones.

                    Another angle with shininess
Finally a night shot - interesting, how much the HDRI global suppresses the original colour of the car paint. Also, I seem to have serious problems with spotlights.
                    Now back to work... πŸ˜‰

                    Gai...

Gaieus, that's a really great contribution, thank you very much. Hopefully others will contribute their versions also.

I've only done two renderings with KT - a simple chair and a beach house. I'd really like to - and I need to - spend the time necessary to learn how to use KT.

I have to say that i just love that truck, it's like a stepson to me:P
I really love your shapes but hate you don't finish them.As i said you inspire me.I have a suggestion to you Mr. Greentoaster.....if you post more of your models "i will add your technological distinctness to my own"( star trek joke:P), i mean i'll add details to finish it like i did with the truck, i really enjoyed doing it.

Sure, that would be really great. I really enjoy seeing the finished models also - I'm sure others do too - it's all great.

I'm not at my computer now but hope to be there later & will then post some models - they're all pretty much unfinished which provides lots of variety for making them "yours".

                            Happy modeling,

Then here you go with a last render of your truck. I seem to have been able to solve my spotlight problem; the "trick" was what is about evident; these reflectors are not just small table lamps. πŸ˜’

There is a pointlight and a spotlight in the reflectors. The point ligh has 100 set as multiplier while the spotlight has 300.
