I am in the market for a handheld movie player. I want something small I can take to a clients office and play an animation on or show still images on. Currently I am looking at these:

      Ipod touch 16gb
      http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?nnmm=browse&node=home/shop_ipod/family/ipod_touch

      Archos 605 wifi 160gb
      http://www.archos.com/products/gen_5/archos_605wifi/index.html?country=global&lang=en

      Epson p-3000
      http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=63061067

I am not so much worried about price, I am more worried about quality. I do not want a portable dvd player due to having to burn dvds all the time.

I am just looking for some thoughts on what people might think would be best for this type of thing.

Id go for the archos, ive got the touch, and although its good, i wouldnt say its really the sort fo thing your looking for. The archos has a bigger screen which is always nice, its also a better aspect ratio for playing videos, at least i think it is.

The archos will also accept a lot more file formats compared to the touch.

I havent had a lot of experience with the other model you mentioned, unfortunately.

          Remus,

Thanks for your input. The Archos is cheaper than the touch also.

          Anyone else?

            Stott,

I'd go along with Remus. The screen size is important if you
intend showing stuff to clients. This is a good idea and one
that I may consider for meetings with Planning Officers.

              Mike,

It is an idea I have had for a while. This way I do not have to carry a laptop to every meeting. The player has to be fairly easy to use as well. I do not want a client getting frustrated if the player does not work as expected. Thanks for the input. I think today I will be going to make a decision and pick one up. I will let everyone know what I find.
