Landscape study with Sandbox tools
-
I've been working for quite a little while on a landscape feature I call a "truncated berm".
Finally, I have gotten up to speed on SU with the Sandbox Tools to where I can demonstrate the ideas I have. I realize there are probably better 3D apps. for creating the topography but right now I am concentrating on working with the overall form and design. After all, that's why they it's called SketchUp. What I'm after, especially, is getting across the 3-dimensionality of the model. SketchUp seems to need the assistance of the various rendering apps. (Podium, KT, Piranesi, etc.) to really make the forms "pop". But I would appreciate any input on that subject. Danty

Well I don't have anything to offer on the rendering front, but I just wanted to comment on your model. I think the 3-dimensionality of the design is very clear, I like what you're doing. I enjoy doing landscapes in SU, although it took awhile to figure out the best methods for doing retaining walls. It looks like you have it figured out, the retaining walls look great. Keep up the good work, hope to see more soon.

Danty, I like what you've done. The people really help for scale. I've use Piranesi quite a bit and really like it. I've only scratch the surface with Podium and only for interiors, but it is really easy to use.
Looking forward to more.

Thanks Peter and Tinanne. The nice comments and suggestions were most appreciated. Danty
