Problem with ball and ramp
-
I made a ramp using regular sketch up. then I made a sphere using sketchy solids. but when i turn the ramp to a componet and but the sphere on top, the ball goes down a little then just stops. So i move the ball so its right on top of the ramp. then the ball floats upward. any idea how to fix this?????

A couple of thoughts...
- SketchyPhysics uses various approximations of shape as bounding boxes. The default is box, so I suspect that the ball will be sitting on top of the invisible bounding box surrounding the slope.
To correct this: select the slope, right click and choose SketchyPhysics > Shape > StaticMesh.
- If you then find that the ball falls through the slope, it is probable that you have the reverse face pointing up. So select the face of the slope, and reverse the face.
Now all should work.

Post your model and Ill take a look.

also sometimes when i press the play button the model wont run and the play button wont look like it was depressed. Also sometimes objects in my drawing wont move, even though they are componets. I dont have access to my drawing currently but will have it tomarrow and will post it. Thanks

You said you made it a component, try making it a group instead of a component, I always use groups, sketchy physics treats them better.

Groups will sometimes work where components will not. If the simulation doesnt start you may have something in your model the the simulation is choking on. If you open the ruby console and press play it may show an error. If so sent it to me and Ill see if I can fix it.

Ive had this problem, to make a ramp, make a slab and then make it a component before rotating it. If you rotate it then make it a component it takes the highest point as the top.
